Interview With Cornelius J. Lumpkin III

CJL III Gives It Up

1 What has Brought you to the ODCW?

Well, numerous reasons... much to many to list on this format. But the main
reason? More opportunity to get my revenge on Mr. Xtreme, who put his
finisher on me and had an inept referee count me out to him AFTER a match
between him and my Kamakazi Kid. I believe you was there, OGO, and I do
believe you saw that Kazi was CHEATED, then I was violated by a sneak attack
by that gutless turd, Mr. Xtreme. Things got a little slow in the SCWA... so
I branched out to get more of an opportunity to smack that pre-teen
moustache off Mr. Xtreme's goofy mug. More shows = more chance for
vengeance. Period.

2 What happened to you and Kazi?

Honestly? I think that as Kid got close to graduating Jimmy Valiant's
training camp... his head started to swell as his closing ceremonies
approached, and I think he started to feel as though he didn't "need" my
guidance any longer. We'll find out if his decision to proceed with his
career without my instruction was a wise one when he faces Mr. Xtreme and
Bradley North in the finals of the SCWA Light-Heavyweight Title
Tournament.... without me. I said without me, but I'll be there, hopefully.
I have a very important engagement on the 26th of October when that match
takes place... but I'm leaving from that as soon as I can and I pray that I
make to that dump in Wentworth just in time to see Kazi fail. Then I'll
watch him crawl back to me. And if the opportunity presents itself... don't
think for a second that I won't kick Mr. Xtreme right in the mouth.

I am meeting with Kid this weekend though, and maybe we'll patch things up
if he screws his head on straight. You just might see me managing him that
night after all.... don't know yet, haven't talked to him.

3 I Kow ,But for everyone else, Why the Dustbuster?

That's easy... you've seen the vermin that filters into the Wentworth
National Guard Armory whenever the SCWA comes to town. You walk into a 5
dollar building wearing a 500 dollar suit and tell me if YOU don't bring
something along to keep in clean. I swear, even the air in that place is
dirty. That's a fact.

4 Who is Lance High dollar? (again I know but for Others)

Lance Highdollar is a close, personal friend of mine who also acts as my
bodyguard. As you may have noticed, I pay attention to the matches my
interests are involved in so focused that sometimes that may leave me open
to an attack from lesser forms of people that may be jealous of my success
or unusual good looks. I'm so intent on instructing my charge so that he
performs at his peak level that the possibility exists that I may never see
a blindside coming.... and Lance takes care of that. He's the "eyes in the
back of my head", so to speak.

5 What is your ultimate goal in Professional Wrestling?

I don't set goals... that signifies an end to your journey. I go with the
flow, and where ever I end with it... that's fine with me. To set a goal,
and not reach it, you have failed. Every night I'm out there at ringside
doing my job, that's the only thing I care about at the moment.... that's
the "goal" I have. That night.

To me, if I don't set a goal, I'm never doomed to be a failure. I live for
the moment, take one day at a time, live life to the fullest... insert next
cliche.

6 Why is it, you think, Your guidence is nessecary for success?

I've been a student of this business for nearly 25 years, even as a kid, I
just didn't watch for the entertainment value... I STUDIED it. I watched to
see what made guys successful, and what made guys into what is commonly know
in these times as a "jobber", and I've witnessed just about every possible
situation that can arise during a contest. A lot of times, a wrestler is so
caught up in the action, in that zone that atheletes often speak of, that
his perception of what's going on around him becomes blurred. I'm his
crutch, I'm the guy that says "do this" or "try that". I'm watching the
match from the best seat in the house... even better than your's at
ringside. I'm an extension of my wrestler, basically wrestling the match
from an "out of body experience" for him. If I see something that is going
on that he may miss due to being too bound into the inside the ring
activities, I'll drop him a "helper"... you'd be amazed at how a simple
"he's going up top" whispered into a man's ear when his brain is scrambled
from a DDT will enable him to avoid a high impact, off the top rope
maneuver.

7 Just wondering but who are your latest stable mates and who is it you are going to go after?

That's classified information, pal. Sorry... but you'll just have to wait
just like the rest of the mill workers and burger flippers that'll have the
priviledge of seeing us in action. I can tell you this, though...the
"stable" thing is going to happen VERY soon, in both the SCWA and the ODCW.
That!.... is a fact.

Mr. Lumpkin Wasn't the most cordial Subject.
He wasn't My favorite ,but he was as forthcoming and very interesting.
